Secretariat won the Triple Crown at the Belmont Stakes on June 9th, 1973. This was the last of the famous three races: The first was the Kentucky Derby on May 5th, 1973, and the Preakness on May 19th, 1973. Only 13 horses had ever won Triple Crowns in the history of the race.
